1. Information We Collect

We collect information that is reasonably necessary to provide education, maintain learner records, process purchases, support regulatory reporting, secure accounts, and operate MedConEd. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:

• Account and identity information: name, username, email address, mailing address, and account authentication or recovery information.
• Professional credential information: National EMS ID, license or certification type, issuing state or jurisdiction, license or certification number, expiration date, NREMT number and re-registration information, Florida or other state-specific license information, and similar professional identifiers.
• Education records: enrollments, course access, progress, activity completion, video or content completion, quiz and exam attempts, scores, evaluations, certificates, completion dates, continuing education hours, and other records required to document participation or completion.
• Purchase and transaction information: course purchased, amount, date, payment status, transaction identifier, and other information needed to administer a purchase or resolve a billing issue.
• Technical and security information: IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, login activity, security logs, timestamps, pages viewed, and similar diagnostic or usage information.
• Communications: support requests, emails, feedback, and other communications you send to us.
• Organization information: employer, EMS agency, school, department, or other sponsoring organization information when your training is assigned, purchased, or administered through an organization.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

• Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts.
• Deliver courses and track progress, participation, assessments, and completion.
• Issue and maintain certificates and historical training records.
• Process purchases and provide customer and technical support.
• Report eligible course completions to accreditation, certification, licensing, or regulatory systems.
• Provide authorized employer, agency, or institutional administrators with training and compliance information when applicable.
• Prevent fraud, account sharing, unauthorized access, misuse, and security incidents.
• Analyze site performance, improve courses and services, and understand how users interact with MedConEd.
• Comply with accreditation standards, contracts, legal obligations, court orders, and lawful regulatory requests.

3. CAPCE & Regulatory Reporting

When required by CAPCE, learners must acknowledge the current CAPCE privacy and reporting notice during registration or enrollment. CAPCE-accredited completion reporting is part of the accredited activity and is not an optional feature of the course.

For eligible Florida learners, MedConEd may report qualifying course completions to CE Broker using the professional credential information provided by the learner. We may also report course completion information to other state EMS agencies, licensing bodies, credentialing organizations, or approved reporting systems when required, authorized, or applicable to the course.

You are responsible for providing accurate professional credential information. Incorrect or incomplete license, NREMT, National EMS ID, or other credential information may prevent or delay successful reporting.

4. Employer, Agency, School, or Sponsor Access

If an employer, EMS agency, fire department, educational institution, or other organization purchases, assigns, sponsors, or administers training on your behalf, authorized representatives of that organization may be able to view information reasonably related to the training relationship. This may include enrollment, progress, completion status, completion dates, certificates, continuing education hours, and assessment or score information where the applicable program is configured to make that information available.

Organizational administrators are expected to access learner information only for legitimate training, educational, operational, credentialing, or compliance purposes.

5. Payments

MedConEd uses third-party payment processors, including Stripe and PayPal, to process online payments. Payment information submitted directly to those providers is subject to their own privacy and security practices. MedConEd may receive transaction information such as the payer name or email, amount, payment status, and transaction identifier needed to confirm, document, or support a purchase.

Full payment-card numbers are intended to be handled by the applicable payment processor rather than stored directly by MedConEd.

6. Cookies, Analytics & Similar Technologies

MedConEd may use cookies and similar technologies to maintain login sessions, remember preferences, protect accounts, operate site features, measure performance, and understand website and course usage. We may use analytics and measurement services, including Google Analytics and related Google measurement technologies, which may receive information such as IP address, browser or device information, pages viewed, referral information, and interactions with the site.

Browser settings may allow you to limit or block certain cookies. Disabling necessary cookies may prevent portions of the site, including login or course functions, from working correctly.

MedConEd does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Certain disclosures to analytics or service providers may be treated differently under particular state privacy laws, and any rights available under applicable law may be exercised as described below.

7. How Information May Be Shared

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

• CAPCE, NREMT, CE Broker, state EMS offices, licensing bodies, approved training officers, credentialing organizations, or similar entities for completion verification or regulatory reporting.
• Authorized employer, agency, school, or sponsor administrators as described above.
• Payment processors, hosting providers, email providers, analytics providers, technology vendors, and other service providers that support MedConEd operations.
• Professional advisers, insurers, auditors, or legal counsel when reasonably necessary.
• Government authorities, courts, regulators, or law enforcement when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request.
• Protect the rights, safety, systems, property, learners, customers, or operations of MedConEd, One Stop Hubs, LLC, or others.
• Support a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale, financing, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements.

8. Data Retention

MedConEd generally retains core learner, course completion, and certificate records for at least seven (7) years and may retain certain completion, certificate, transaction, accreditation, or regulatory reporting records for a longer period when reasonably necessary to preserve historical training records, satisfy accreditation or legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or document regulatory reporting.

Other personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required or permitted by law.

9. Security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction. Access to systems and learner information is limited according to role and operational need where reasonably practicable.

No internet transmission, online service, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their passwords and for promptly reporting suspected unauthorized account access.

If a security incident requires notice under applicable law, MedConEd will provide notification as required.

10. Privacy Rights & Requests

You may request access to or correction of personal information MedConEd maintains about you. Where applicable law provides additional rights, you may also request deletion, restriction, portability, or other available privacy choices.

Some information cannot be deleted on request. MedConEd may retain accreditation, certification, course completion, transaction, fraud-prevention, regulatory, contractual, or other records when retention is required or reasonably permitted by law, accreditation standards, or legitimate recordkeeping needs. Information already submitted to CAPCE, CE Broker, NREMT, a state agency, or another independent third party may also be subject to that organization's records and correction procedures.

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a privacy request. We will not unlawfully discriminate against a user for exercising an applicable privacy right.

11. Patient Information

Unless MedConEd has expressly provided a specific, approved workflow for such information, users must not submit patient names, medical record numbers, photographs, dates of birth, addresses, full incident details, or other information that could identify an individual patient in course responses, discussion areas, evaluations, assignments, support requests, comments, or other site features.

When discussing clinical cases for educational purposes, users should remove or generalize patient identifiers and follow their employer's privacy, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements.

12. Educational & Clinical Disclaimer

MedConEd content is provided for education and continuing education purposes only. It is not a substitute for patient-specific assessment, clinical judgment, medical direction, applicable law, scope-of-practice requirements, or the protocols and policies of your EMS system, employer, medical director, or licensing authority.

Clinical recommendations, medications, procedures, equipment, protocols, standards, and evidence may change. When providing patient care, clinicians must follow current applicable protocols, medical direction, scope of practice, law, and authoritative guidance. Learners should verify clinically important information before applying it to patient care.

Course content may include information, commentary, or educational materials authored by instructors, publishers, partner organizations, or other contributors. Such content does not necessarily represent the views of MedConEd or One Stop Hubs, LLC.

13. Licensure, Certification & Recertification Disclaimer

Accreditation, licensure, certification, recertification, and continuing education acceptance requirements vary by jurisdiction and may change. Completion of a MedConEd course does not by itself guarantee initial licensure, certification, recertification, employment eligibility, promotion, protocol authorization, or acceptance by a particular state, agency, employer, medical director, credentialing body, or educational institution.

Learners are responsible for confirming that a course satisfies the requirements applicable to their license, certification level, state, jurisdiction, employer, and renewal cycle, including any limitations on online or distributive education and any additional practical, psychomotor, local, or state-specific requirements.

14. Accounts, Identity Verification & Academic Integrity

Your account is personal to you. You must provide accurate information, keep account credentials secure, and promptly update information that changes. You may not:

• Share your password, login, account, or course access with another person.
• Complete coursework, assessments, evaluations, or attendance requirements for another person.
• Allow another person to complete coursework or assessments under your identity.
• Falsify attendance, identity, professional credentials, course participation, completion information, or regulatory reporting data.
• Use unauthorized automation, scripts, bots, scraping tools, or other methods to simulate course participation or bypass course controls.
• Copy, photograph, record, extract, distribute, publish, sell, or disclose protected exam questions, quiz banks, answer keys, or other restricted assessment content.
• Attempt to circumvent security, course completion requirements, timing controls, progress tracking, or access restrictions.

MedConEd may investigate suspected academic-integrity or identity violations. Where a completion or certificate was obtained through fraud, misrepresentation, account sharing, or circumvention of course requirements, MedConEd may invalidate the affected certificate or completion record and may correct prior reports to CAPCE, CE Broker, an employer, a state agency, or another credentialing organization where appropriate.

15. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, MedConEd course materials, videos, graphics, text, assessments, certificates, templates, software, and other site content are owned by or licensed to MedConEd, One Stop Hubs, LLC, or the applicable content owner and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.

Course access is granted for the learner's personal educational use only. You may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, sublicense, publicly display, create unauthorized derivative works from, or commercially exploit protected MedConEd content without written permission from the applicable rights holder.

16. Purchases & Refunds

Course pricing and access terms are displayed before purchase. Unless a course states otherwise, purchased course access is subject to the access period displayed for that course or in the MedConEd FAQ.

Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. MedConEd will generally work to correct technical access problems before issuing a refund. Duplicate or erroneous charges should be reported promptly. Refunds are ordinarily not issued after a learner has completed a substantial portion of a course or after a completion certificate has been issued, except where required by law or where MedConEd determines that circumstances justify a refund.

To request assistance or a refund review, contact support@medconed.com and include the learner name, course, and transaction information sufficient for MedConEd to locate the purchase.

17. Course & Service Availability

MedConEd may add, update, revise, replace, suspend, or discontinue site features or course content when reasonably necessary for educational quality, accreditation, security, legal compliance, technology changes, or business operations. We may temporarily interrupt access for maintenance, security, updates, or events outside our reasonable control.

When a purchased course is materially affected, MedConEd will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate alternative, restore access, extend access, or otherwise resolve the issue.

18. No Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the MedConEd website, courses, content, and services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. MedConEd disclaims warranties that may lawfully be disclaimed, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

MedConEd does not warrant that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that every course will satisfy every jurisdiction's changing credentialing requirements. Nothing in this section excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

19. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MedConEd and One Stop Hubs, LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential damages arising from or related to use of the site, inability to use the site, loss of data, service interruption, reliance on educational content, or unauthorized use of an account.

For a claim directly relating to a paid MedConEd course or service, and to the extent a limitation is permitted by law, MedConEd's aggregate liability will not exceed the amount paid by the claimant for the specific course or service giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in this policy limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.

20. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless MedConEd and One Stop Hubs, LLC from third-party claims, damages, or reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, your material violation of these terms, your infringement of another person's intellectual-property or privacy rights, or information you knowingly submit in violation of law or confidentiality obligations.

21. Third-Party Services & Links

MedConEd may link to or integrate with third-party services such as payment processors, video platforms, analytics services, accreditation or regulatory systems, and external educational resources. Third-party services operate under their own terms, privacy policies, security practices, and availability commitments. MedConEd is not responsible for the content or independent practices of a third-party service.

22. Minors

MedConEd is not directed to children under 13. Individuals who are under the age of majority in their jurisdiction may use MedConEd only when they are otherwise eligible for the applicable educational program and with parent, guardian, school, employer, or program authorization when such authorization is required.

23. Accessibility

MedConEd seeks to provide educational services that are reasonably accessible to learners with disabilities. If you experience an accessibility barrier or require assistance accessing course content, contact support@medconed.com. We will make reasonable efforts to address accessibility issues and provide appropriate assistance or alternatives when feasible.

24. Suspension & Termination

MedConEd may restrict, suspend, or terminate account or course access when reasonably necessary to investigate or address suspected fraud, account sharing, academic-integrity violations, abusive or unlawful conduct, security threats, unauthorized copying or distribution, nonpayment, or material violation of these terms.

Suspension or termination of access does not require MedConEd to delete historical course completion, certificate, transaction, security, or regulatory records that MedConEd is required or reasonably permitted to retain.

25. Governing Law & General Terms

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any mandatory rights or remedies available to consumers under the law of their home jurisdiction remain unaffected where those rights cannot lawfully be waived.

If any provision of this policy is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law. A failure by MedConEd to enforce a provision on one occasion does not waive the right to enforce it later.

These terms, together with any course-specific terms, purchase terms, or notices expressly incorporated into them, constitute the agreement governing use of the applicable MedConEd services.

26. Changes to This Policy

MedConEd may update this policy to reflect changes in law, accreditation requirements, technology, services, or business practices. The “Last Updated” date at the top of the page will identify the current version. Material changes may be presented for renewed acknowledgment when appropriate.
